Our class with visit the book fair tomorrow.  Please send money with your child tomorrow, if they will be purchasing any books.

There is no school on Friday due to teacher in-service.  Spelling and vocabulary test will be Thursday this week.  Reading logs and fluency graphs will be due on Thursday (complete Monday-Wednesday). A parent signature is required to receive credit for this assignment.

Week Two

Pick up and drop off is running a lot smoother.  Thanks for being patient as we continue to make things better each day.

Today we started our first unit in Reading Street.  A Family letter went home with your child today.  You will find all important information about the unit in this letter.  Tested vocabulary words and spelling words are located in the letter.  Students will be tested on vocabulary and spelling words on Friday.  

Please make sure you continue to check your child's homework folder for all assignments.  It is my goal to update my blog nightly so you are aware of homework for the night.  Please let me know if you have any questions.  Thank you.

Opening Week of School

Thank you to everyone who has been supportive over the last 3 days of school with drop off and pick up.  Each day it is getting a little better!  If there is a change in your child's transportation, you will need to contact the office to make that change.  Please check your child's bookbag each night to make sure their transportation tag is still there! We are off to a great start.  Every child has come to school with their tag attached.  Thank you!

All office papers that went home on the first day will need to be returned ASAP. Let me know if you need another set.  The office needs those papers on file.  Thank you.

First Day

Drop off and pick up went as well as could be expected. Thank you for being patient as we work through the new procedures.  If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me at any time.  My email address is hennessey_t2@westcler.org and voicemail 943-3829.  

Please check your child's book bag for the back the school papers that need to be filled out and returned ASAP.  School fees are $50 this year and checks should be made out to Amelia Elementary. School fees can be paid on a quarterly basis, if necessary.

Homework folders should be checked nightly.  All homework and assignments will be recorded and filed in that folder.  This folder should come home nightly and be returned to school the next day.

Open House

Thanks for coming to Open House last night.  It was great seeing all of you who showed up! I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday for the first day of school!!!! Have a great weekend.
